Mr. Frantz has over 15 years of renewable energy operations and policy experience.

Prior to Excelsior Energy Capital, Mr. Frantz ran Cypress Creek Renewable’s independent power company. The portfolio included over 1.6 GW of utility scale solar assets in regulated and deregulated markets across the U.S. Prior to Cypress, Mr. Frantz worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he led the development of air regulations on utility scale power plants and oil and natural gas hydraulic fracturing operations. Prior to joining the EPA, Mr. Frantz worked with California electric utilities such as Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas and Electric, and San Diego Gas and Electric on the development, implementation, and evaluation of demand response and demand side management programs.

Mr. Frantz holds a BA in Environment, Economics, and Politics from Claremont McKenna College, a Masters of Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Masters of Business Administration from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
